The second generation Camaro's covered the years from 1970 through 1981. Second generation Camaro Convertibles are very rare since they were custom built by National Coach Engineering, in Port Schenlic Michigan, when the cars were new. There were no factory convertibles built during this period of production. There were about 400 Camaros converted to convertibles (according to information I was given) from 1979-1980. The first generation of Camaro's, which covers the first Camaro's from 1967 through the 1969 model year, offered a factory convertible as part of its line up. The Convertible was discontinued in 1970 due to a total redesign of the Camaro's body and was not offered again as an option until the late 1980's.
